migration
The migration module brings together two levels of analysis. At the level of immigration policy, researchers may examine factors that affect who enters Canada and under what conditions. Policy shapes fundamentally the socio-economic status and position of immigrants in the Canadian labour market. At the second, labour market, level of analysis researchers may focus on such topics as labour force participation, schooling, precarious employment, and household form. Also examined in the module are how gender, race-ethnicity and class intersect among those born in Canada, and the differences and similarities in patterns found among immigrants.
