technology
The technology module examines the role that technology plays in the organization of the labour market and the work that people perform. Informed by the growing body of literature on women and technology and the expanding field of feminist communication studies, this module uses Canadian statistical data to explore how technology is deployed in gendered ways; it reveals how work that is considered “technical” remains differentiated and stratified by sex/gender, "race," and (dis)ability and demonstrates that technology itself is a gendered concept.
