Data in the statistics section are custom produced by Statistics Canada. Tables may contain dimensions that are not available in Public Use Microdata Files (PUMFs), or they may contain cross-tabulations that are not available elsewhere in published data. The GWD has purchased this data and made it available through the website. Statistics Canada controls the dissemination of its data products. The GWD has an agreement with Statistics Canada that stipulates that the data are not available for open public or commercial use.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Researchers wishing to use the data are granted access with a username and password. Access is free of charge, but researchers must be affiliated with an approved institution or organization. Users must also agree that the data are to be used for NON COMMERCIAL PURPOSES ONLY. Data may be used for academic or non-profit\/community research and for teaching.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">WHO CAN APPLY FOR ACCESS?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Statistics Canada has permitted access to users who belong to a <strong>postsecondary institution in Canada<\/strong> that participates in the Data Liberation Initiative (DLI). The DLI is a project that makes Statistics Canada data files, databases and electronic geography files available to academic users at selected educational institutions in Canada for an annual subscription fee, which is typically provided through the subscribing institution&#8217;s Library. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nThe GWD allows access to users who belong to a postsecondary institution in Canada and\/or international, academic users, researchers, non-profit community groups, and students intending to use the data for <strong>non commercial<\/strong> purposes only.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I MEET THE CRITERIA FOR ACCESS &#8211; HOW DO I APPLY?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you are eligible, then complete and sign the<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.genderwork.ca\/gwd\/wp-content\/uploads\/GWD_access_application.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GWD application form<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mail or e-mail a copy to<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> (Attn: Database Project Manager)<\/span><\/span><\/span>: <\/span><\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Gender &amp; Work Database<\/strong><br \/>\n6th Floor<br \/>\nKaneff Tower<br \/>\nYork University<br \/>\n4700 Keele St.<br \/>\nToronto, ON<br \/>\nM3J 1P3<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">gwd@yorku.ca<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown, only applications by email are currently being processed.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Keep a copy for your own records. Please also note as per the agreement that if you contravene the terms of access, your account will be rescinded.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">OTHER ACCESS<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I (or my institution\/organization) do NOT already have access, but meet the criteria. What do I do?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you meet the general criteria, i.e. you are a member of an educational institution or a non-profit community group, and intend to use the data for non commercial research and\/or teaching purposes ONLY, then you may apply for access using the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.genderwork.ca\/gwd\/wp-content\/uploads\/GWD_access_application.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GWD application form<\/a><\/strong>.
